The architectural ensemble «Jami» is a historical building of the late 19th (19th) century, located in the city of Andijan. The ensemble «Jami» is an architectural complex consisting of magnificent beauty of a mosque, a madrasah and a minaret. In addition, the territory of the ensemble is an artificial pond, plantations of various plants, thanks to which here in the hot summer days it always blows cool. This historical monument was named «The Pearl of the Medieval Art of Andijan».
Madrasa «Jami» is a huge symmetrical structure, the length of which is 123 m, with a facade directed towards the east. Earlier, the shape of the building resembled the letter «P», there was a large courtyard, but to date, the northern and southern parts have not survived. On both sides of the madrassah towers towering towers. In the corner parts of the building there are rooms for teaching students, and between them there are special rooms for them. Madrasah can not boast of its decor — only the main façade is decorated here: the surface of the domes and the portal are covered with blue and blue mosaic. In addition, the huge gates of the Darvozahanas also survived. The gates are made of wood, they are decorated with carved floral ornaments.
The «Jami» mosque is considered to be the largest mosque in the entire Ferghana Valley, its dimensions are amazing. The main facade of the mosque has 26 arched spans, which is a rarity. In the building there is a spacious hall of rectangular shape, and on three sides the mosque is surrounded by aivans, whose décor is marvelous: the ceilings are painted with bright patterns with vegetative and geometric elements, and the wooden columns on which they rest are decorated with unique carvings.
The Jami Minaret
The minaret «Jami» is the highest building on an octagonal base with a height of 32 meters. It should be noted that the minaret is the highest minaret in the entire Ferghana Valley. As a material in the construction of this structure, burnt bricks were chosen, which is very well preserved over the centuries. At the very top of the minaret is installed a lantern, which has lancet openings. The uppermost part of the minaret is framed by a ring made of blue and blue mosaic. A special spiral staircase rises along the entire length of the building. Here, near the minaret, there is a reservoir, which was made in an artificial way specially to give the beauty of the facade, and around the pond trees and various flowers grow.
